Cliff Waldman is a senior economist and council director to the MAPI Manufacturing Council.
Waldman regularly writes and speaks on U.S. and global economic trends. He has authored a number of papers and published several articles on the Chinese economy, winning a national award for a paper on Chinese demographic trends. Along with former colleague Jeremy Leonard, he co-authored a cutting-edge study on manufacturing innovation that was published in the October 2007 edition of Business Economics, for which they received an award for outstanding contributed paper.
He previously worked as a research economist for the New Jersey Department of Labor, within the research arm of the National Federation of Independent Business (NFIB), and as president of Waldman Associates, an economic consulting firm in Arlington, VA.
He holds an M.A. and a B.A. in Economics from Rutgers University.
