About
The MAPI Purchasing Council meetings provide a forum for senior procurement executives to exchange ideas, test theories, and find solutions to complex supply management challenges. The reports that members deliver at the semiannual meetings are “how we did it” examples from the very best manufacturing firms. Open discussions, the combined experiences of members, and the breadth of their backgrounds result in valuable discussions that are unavailable elsewhere.
Who should attend?
Attendees are the most senior procurement executives in their companies. Council members prefer to have the principal at the meeting for peer discussions. An occasional exception is made for a direct report who can act as an alternate in the event of a scheduling conflict. All attendees must work for a manufacturing company or industrial distributor.
What makes MAPI Council meetings different?
Timely agenda: Agenda planning begins about three months before the meeting. Members evaluate a list of topics from their peers to build an agenda that meets their needs.
Roundtable discussions: Plenty of time is allotted for rich dialogue on the issues you care about, moderated to keep discussions focused on actionable strategies.
Peer-to-peer sharing: There are no talking heads; instead, you’ll hear candid presentations by your peers at global manufacturers about their experiences.
No death by PowerPoint: We schedule ample time for interaction and Q&A, so you can dig deep on the topics that matter.
No pitches: Our council meetings aren’t sponsored, and there are no sales pitches. None.
Balance of strategy and utility: MAPI Purchasing Council meetings deliver great content around strategy and peer-tested frameworks for putting those strategies into action.
