MAPI Webinar: Global Economic Outlook

About This Meeting:

February 26, 2014, 3:00 pm

In this webinar, MAPI Senior Economist Cliff Waldman will review a complex global economic picture that, while improving, remains imbalanced. He will discuss what appears to be modestly firming economic activity in a U.S. economy that will have the challenge of adjusting to higher market interest rates while confronting a difficult long-term unemployment picture.

The recovery in the Eurozone is good news from the vantage point of diminished global risk from that large common market but is nonetheless tepid and inhibiting a return to full strength in the pace of global trade activity. Fortunately, positive signs from Japan and the United Kingdom are at least encouraging of sustainable trade growth.

Mr. Waldman will also discuss the world implications of what appears to be a protracted period of slower growth as well as political and policy transitions in the large emerging market economies that are of great importance to the profitability of U.S. manufacturers.
