Crisis Management at MAPI Member Companies
In this benchmarking report, MAPI examined how member companies organize, lead and structure their crisis management teams as well as how they plan for, communicate and prepare before, during and after events. We also sought to understand the challenges and opportunities facing companies in this area.
- A majority of respondents (95%) indicated the importance of crisis management within their company has become more important or stayed the same over the last five years
- No MAPI company reported having one-full time leader dedicated to crisis management
- Site disasters (90%), natural disasters (90%), fire (90%), extreme weather (85%) and workplace violence (85%) are covered in a majority of crisis management plans
- Respondents indicated that establishing a crisis management leader (84%), communication with employees (74%) and having a formal crisis management team (71%) were listed as the top most important areas in a crisis management program
