Survey of the Corporate Treasury Function—2nd Edition

Monday, April 30, 2012

This survey of the treasury function captures the working environment of senior financial officers of large industrial companies, and reveals that treasurers are getting more involved in international operations than in the past. At the same time, the scope, size, and budget of the department remained largely unchanged. Also in comparison to the 2003 survey, treasurers reported outsourcing a slightly larger volume of work. Reaching goals and objectives directly bears on treasurers’ compensation: in almost 85 percent of cases, such quantitative guidelines shape pay levels and adjustment. Respondents also communicated a larger deployment of engineering-type quality processes, such as Six Sigma, lean, Kaizen, and others.
