MAPI’s Meckstroth to Speak at NABE Industry Conference

Daniel J. Meckstroth, Ph.D., Vice President and Chief Economist for the Manufacturers Alliance for Productivity and Innovation (MAPI), will be a presenter and panelist at the 2012 National Association for Business Economics Industry Conference May 30-31 in Cleveland, OH.

Making it in America: Manufacturing Matters will focus on the changing dynamics of U.S. manufacturing in the global economy and will address its rejuvenation and new challenges and opportunities. The macroeconomic and manufacturing outlook will be provided by leading industry forecasters. Issues to be covered include workforce development, how Wall Street views manufacturing, the role of the oil and gas boom and its implications for manufacturing, evolving supply chains and investment, service innovation in manufacturing, and policies to enhance manufacturing competitiveness.

Meckstroth will offer a presentation on how the manufacturing supply chain is evolving and participate in a panel discussion. Other prominent economists, sector analysts, Federal Reserve officials, and business leaders will take part in the two-day program.

The inaugural conference, to be held at the Federal Reserve Bank of Cleveland, is sold out.
