MAPI is holding three one day forums this June for executives to discuss strategies around Benefits, Talent & Leadership Development, and Worker's Compensation. Each forum will focus on how companies can maintain successful, cost-effective programs in a challenging business environment.
 
Featured speakers include executives from Emerson, Johnson Controls, Deere, Parker Hannifin, and W.W. Grainger. These roundtable seminars are targeted to senior-level leaders responsible for benefits, worker's compensation, and/or organizational development.

Salaries, Compensation and Pension Benefits

 

The combination of meetings, surveys, and research allows MAPI members to leverage a peer knowledge base to benchmark solutions, practices, and policies.  MAPI recently polled its member financial officers to ask about their outlook for salaries, compensation and pension benefits.

Why re-invent the wheel?

 

Members of the MAPI Human Resources Council are actively sharing their companies' policies, procedures, and programs with fellow members.  The MAPI HR Council website provides an opportunity to view and download a number of shared documents, including:

·         Recognition and Retention Programs

·         Employment References Policies

·         Tuition Reimbursement Policies

In conjunction with the MAPI Environmental Management Council meeting (December 3-4, 2009), MAPI members have been invited to tour the Bacardi-Martini Bottling Facility in Jacksonville, FL.  In addition to the tour, Council members will participate in roundtable discussion on critical issues, including:

  • EHS: Design/Construction of New Facilities
  • Globalizing Health and Safety Efforts

 

Big Crowd for This Week's GM Council Meeting

 

We're happy to report that we have record-breaking attendance for this week's MAPI General Managers Council meeting. We have over 40 executives scheduled to attend, from companies like Caterpillar, Ingersoll-Rand, Shell, Rockwell Automation, Danaher, ITW, and Saint-Gobain. 

 

The agenda features items on Strategic Pricing in a Downturn, Market-Facing Tools in the Danaher Business System, Operational Excellence programs, and how members are shifting their organizational mindset from cutting to growing.

Environmental Management Council, "First Friday" Webinar Series
DellOn Friday, August 7, the MAPI Environmental Management Council hosted its first "First Friday" webinar:
 
"BBS 2.0:  Applying Lean Thinking and Leading Indicators to Behavior-Based Safety Training."  
 
Dane Parker, Director of Dell's Global Environmental Health and Safety Efforts, led this informative program.  Over 20 Council members participated.
