Sales Council launched
Last week MAPI launched its newest Council, dedicated to serving sales executives from leading global manufacturers. Our inaugural meeting featured discussions on:
  • How sales can win against world-class procurement organizations
  • Best practices for selling on total cost
  • Best practices for cross-silo selling
  • Global economic outlook
The MAPI Sales Council membership already includes senior executives from companies such as Ingersoll Rand, Dover, Siemens, Newell Rubbermaid, PPG, and Honeywell. If you are interested in learning more, please contact MAPI's Justin Caron.
Preliminary Agenda for Fall Manufacturing Council Meeting Announced

Best practices for green marketing

The push for companies to consume less energy and to produce less waste is only growing stronger. Marketing plays a critical role in this, because it can communicate with customers about the breadth of a company’s sustainability and green efforts. These communications should emphasize that there is tangible value to the customer in buying green products. Feeling good about being green is insufficient to the task, especially when selling to sophisticated procurement organizations.

 

This brief article outlines several best practices for marketing green products, and then highlights a few of these practices in action at A.O. Smith and Eaton.

MAPI launches Division Finance Council

Upcoming topics for MAPI forums now posted!
MAPI is holding three one day forums this June for executives to discuss strategies around Benefits, Talent & Leadership Development, and Worker's Compensation. Each forum will focus on how companies can maintain successful, cost-effective programs in a challenging business environment.
 
Featured speakers include executives from Emerson, Johnson Controls, Deere, Parker Hannifin, and W.W. Grainger. These roundtable seminars are targeted to senior-level leaders responsible for benefits, worker's compensation, and/or organizational development.

Salaries, Compensation and Pension Benefits

 

The combination of meetings, surveys, and research allows MAPI members to leverage a peer knowledge base to benchmark solutions, practices, and policies.  MAPI recently polled its member financial officers to ask about their outlook for salaries, compensation and pension benefits.
